Pinedale Middle School

Middle School Families,
The staff here are excited to work alongside your family to make the middle school years some of the best your child’s educational journey. Middle School is a unique time for students; they undergo many physical and emotional changes. In this time, our school has systems in place to help navigate these changes and learn strategies for navigating the social side of education. In an effort to prepare students for the next level, we will teach many different content areas while also providing opportunities to build the skills needed to be a successful learner. A large piece of middle school success is beginning the process of being an independent learner; our staff uses the daily Advisory period to help students in developing those traits. Students will work with peers and teachers to learn study skills, calendar organization, positive social interaction, classroom/assignment prioritization, attendance communication, and internal motivation ideas.

We encourage you as parents to get involved in your child’s education. Research indicates that one of the greatest indicators of student success is parental involvement. By getting your children involved with extracurricular activities. By doing so, students have more chances to learn life lessons and navigate challenges.

To keep you up to date on important dates and times for events at the middle school. We will update the district calendar, our school calendar; as well as, post to the monthly newsletter, facebook, and through the Remind app.

The policies in this handbook are for students and families. We hope that you will read this to help answer any questions that may come up.

Myself and the staff cannot wait to make this a great year. If you have any questions or concerns, our doors are always open.

It is a great day to be a Wrangler!

Sincerely,

David Thrash & Kellie Jo Williams
